The German Clock Route leads the visitor through some of the most beautiful holiday destinations and landscapes of the Black Forest. Its 320 km circular route offers interesting clock museums and clock factories, and along the way the visitor will find charming Black Forest peasant houses with shingle roofs, clear trout streams, green meadows and dark and inviting forests.
The Black Forest region has elegant spas such as Baden-Baden, lakeside destinations such as Titisee-Neustadt, and historic cities including Freiburg, with its magnificent cathedral. Stuttgart, the state capital and an important wine-growing city, is home to the famous Mercedes-Benz and Porsche Museums and hosts a major beer festival that rivals Munich’s Oktoberfest.
