Stuttgart Canstatter Volksfest
Each autumn there are great festivities on the Cannstatter Wasen site in Stuttgart, with the Cannstatter Volksfest (Cannstatt Beer Festival) offering highly traditional family fun.
All around the historical centrepiece of the harvest festival, the so-called “Fruchtsäule” – the literal translation is “fruit column” – around 300 showmen, festival hosts and market traders will present a wide diversity of attractions. Whether it’s the roller-coaster, dodgems or chair planes – modern fairground rides encounter popular classic rides on the Wasen.
A highly festive mood with music and tasty food is guaranteed in the magnificently decorated festival tents. What with the traditional festival parade on the first Sunday, the family days and, as the grand finale, the big fireworks display that is accompanied by music, the highlights of the beer festival’s traditions are once again on the programme.
