Dresden on the RIver Elbe and the capital of the eastern German state of Saxony, is distinguished by its historic inner city, celebrated art museums and classic architecture. The baroque church Frauenkirche, built in 1743 and rebuilt after the Second World War, is known for its grand dome.

​Frankfurt, a central German city on the Main River, is the European Central Bank’s main financial hub. It is the birthplace of famous writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now a museum, under the name of Goethe House Museum. It was destroyed during World War II and then restored, like much of the city.

Leipzig is a big city with a great history (for Saxony and Germany as well). It’s a city where people love to live and there are many university students living there. Leipzig is also noteworthy because of its history and its trade fair centre (Leipziger Messe) which acts as a commercial centre.
Munich

Munich

Munich, situated on the river Isar in the south of Bavaria, is renowned for its beautiful architecture, fine culture, and the annual Oktoberfest beer festival. The cultural scene in Munich is second to none, and even some consider it to outrank Berlin because of its many museums.

Nuremberg

​Nuremberg is home to one of the most historical of Germany’s Christmas Markets and is Bavaria’s second largest city after its capital, Munich.  Alongside this, Nuremberg is a hot spot for those interested in German Military history, specifically WW2. This makes Nuremberg the must-visit destination for history enthusiasts.

​Stuttgart, the capital of the Baden-Württemberg region in southwest Germany, is regarded as a manufacturing hub. There are offices and museums here for Mercedes-Benz and Porsche and greenspaces fill the city, winding around its centre. This includes The Schlossgarten, Rosensteinpark, and Killesbergpark which are very popular. Wilhelma is just northeast of Rosenstein Castle, one of Europe’s main zoos and botanical gardens.
